Christmas is cool. I usually say I hate the holiday for a number of reasons until I go buy gifts and wonder will the recipients like them. Its also fun seeing my friends that I live hours away from and all the antics and shenanigans and etc and so forth. But that video hits home still. I’m in Cincinnati right now chillin and if I had stayed in Brooklyn for the holidays I would have probably would have turned into a sad sack of shit every night in my apartment. I know a few transplants who didn’t go home for the holidays and we may have had a pity party or something but for the most part I imagine that I would have been sitting around my apartment moping. Its kinda hard to imagine the holidays without family or some kinda network to welcome and invite you into their celebrations.
My dad passed a year ago on December 27th and a year before that my Grandmother roughly around the same time. It’s not really an easy time of the year but spending time loving the living relatives really helps relieve the pain of missing the deceased. I almost didn’t make it home this Christmas and that would have really sucked.
I just realized this is the most I’ve said on my blog in months. I’ll try not to let it happen again… every time I say I’ll blog more or announce a grand return its a fail. So I take that back.
